Future security of cryptocurrencies
« on: July 07, 2018, 07:44:14 PM »
Hey guys, I've read this article that tackles the future security of cryptocurrencies.  (https://www.investing.com/analysis/as-cryptocurrencies-proliferate-so-do-certain-criminal-activities-200302190)

What do you think, is coming up with a regulation body needed or can we keep up individually in protecting our own assets?

I just think that as crypto users, it's high time we realize the need for a greater and improved online security presence.

This is good article, thanks for sharing.  Agree that self-regulation is critical to keep one's online transactions safe.  A lot of scams are prevalent these days and one needs to be more vigilant in his/her online presence.  The problem with regulatory bodies is they tend to put a lot of restrictions that may hinder the growth of the crypto space.

Yes, for me this is correct.  Self-regulation is a key to keep one's assets safe.  People need to be made more aware on the importance of being extra careful and vigilant in protecting their investments.  And if I may just mention it, there's a new project that intends to help users protect themselves against online fraud.  If you've heard about MyShield platform, this is one of the projects to look out for given its relevance to crypto users as if provides security alerts if anyone reaches a fraud or phishing website.  These type of projects help users self-regulate and protect their crypto assets.

Agree.  It is one's responsibility to be vigilant in keeping his account/ assets safe.  Tools such as the platform you mentioned would greatly help a user in this responsibility.  It seems interesting, the project you mentioned, Myshield?  Although haven't heard of it, I think projects such as those that intend to promote online security are what a crypto user should be looking at.

It's actually a new blockchain project that is yet to be launched via an ICO within Q3 2018.  It's a decentralized platform that would alert users whenever they reach phishing website, an online counterfeit sale, and other types of online scams. It will also provide validations for crypto transactions.  The model is based on AI powered cyber intelligence and crowd wisdom/ community report.  Projects such as this would help a user keep an eye on his every online transaction and be confident that there something that will alert him of any possible risk.  This makes self-regulation much easier and convenient for us users.  I think this is the future security of cryptocurrencies.

hmmm, sounds interesting.  im kind curious about how this actually works.  would've been better if an actual app is already existing to test its effectivity?

agree.  but it's good to know that some companies are looking now into addressing the greater need for online security in the cryptocurrency space.  i think i've heard the project MyShield in of one the posts in twitter (?).  It seems to be a project spearheaded by cyber intelligence team Brandshield.  That company I'm sure of being experts in cyber security field.  If my assumption is correct, then this must be a project to look at.  A lot of companies are now looking into AI as technology that addresses various concerns and i wouldn't be surprised if it's also applied in online security.  Plus the crowd wisdom aspect is something interesting.  I think this part is the new element in the online security equation.  Not heard of it yet in any other projects.

As Ive read in the whitepaper, the user app is planned to be launched Q1 2019. I think what makes this project relevant is the increasing number of fraud and scam cases being reported, almost daily.  And it seems users are getting more and more aware of it hence realizing the need for a solution to fight these threats.  Cryptocurrencies has so great of a potential in the economic eco system.  Unfortunately, its growth is hampered by these scam threats which may have turned off prospective investors.

Totally agree with what you've said here.  I think the MyShield project poses a big potential in the crypto space.  What are the developments so far of this project?

Currently in private sale while tge is in Q3.  user app launch will be in Q1 2019.  you may join the tg community for more discussions about this particular project.
We need to be more vigilant in our fight against scams and that will also mean partnering with the right projects.

Hey, I joined and been reading the whitepaper actually.  Details seem interesting.  It's a blockchain based anti-scam platform that would alert users whenever they reach a fraud/ phishing site.  Makes use of AI and crowd wisdom technology.

I think as simple as the concept may be, alerting users of possible fraud threat, I think it addresses one of the big problems of the crypto space now, which is scam.  So yeah, may have a big potential in the future security of cryptocurrencies.

Totally agree.  Confidence has to be brought back again to crypto space.  MyShield is the solution to look out for that will help users fight scams.  Vigilance of every individual user is also a key.

Thanks for this info!  Will check out the tg community.  Is this the first anti-scam platform?  For me it seems it is, first time of such thing because it's usually anti-virus and anti-spam.  Is it any different?

The whitepaper says it's the world's first anti-scam platform which I think might be true.  Usually its anti-virus or anti-spam but nothing anti-scam yet.  This is an innovative by a great team in cyber intelligence.  I didnt know that AI and human reports could be made possible.
